Nonlinear aerodynamic characteristics of an airplane and their influence on loading of horizontal tail unit during pitch maneuvering

Abstract

Comparative numerical analysis is carried out for some cases of transport-class airplane horizontal tail loading during pitch maneuvers. An influence of aerodynamic data non-linearity and control laws on the loading is considered. As follows from obtained numerical results, external forces and moments computation based on linear aerodynamic theory leads to essential error in horizontal tail load values as well as in airplane motion kinematic parameter values.
