Abstract

A serious problem emerges throughout manufacturing and repair of aviation gas-turbine engines. The problem relates to a cleaning of cooling channels within turbine blades from various contamination substances. Many techniques have been developed to perform high-quality cleaning of inner cavities in machine parts. However besides of the cleaning we need examination techniques suitable for large-scale manufacturing environment. This subject is analyzed in the paper in regard to gas-turbine engine production.

Keywords:

turbine blade, cooling channels of turbine blades, cleaning, contamination, X-ray inspection technique, infrared imaging inspection technique
